Our Bali vacay literally seems like forever ago. Melbourne has stolen away our tan and reminded us what it’s like to be cold every. single. day. What does a Coconut Margarita even taste like again? But lucky for you we wrote ourselves a little diary while we were sunning by the pool. And today that diary becomes tips and tricks for you! You’re welcome vibe tribe!

MOTEL MEXICOLA
Seminyak
Think Fonda but epically fun! We headed here for a baby free night with the full Vibe Tribe and enjoyed some crazy good Mexican food. Not greasy Taco Bill’s Mexican, but modern really really delicious food with an atmosphere that is contagious. Once you’ve finished dinner at around 9:30pm expect the venue to turn up the tunes, start the TEQUILA shots and the table tops become the dance floor! Classic hits like the Spice Girls, old school R&B and a hint of the Biebs for good measure. The perfect parents night out to let your hair down.

TIPS: Make sure you book ahead online andddd you HAVE to order the grilled corn (delish)

POTATO HEAD
Kuta

Worth going for an afternoon sticky beak and very kid friendly. We hung out all afternoon playing our favourite game of people watching with a sneaky Pina Colada in hand. Perfect place to eat, swim or just hang with all the beautiful people taking a million bikini selfies while trying to boomerang their cocktails #instakweens.

TIP: Get there around 4pm to get a table or you may have to wait for a while.

THE LAWN
Canggu
The best spot in Bali to capture that perfect insta worthy sunset pic. Every angle is beautifully styled and just ready to be the backdrop for a #candid snap. Think hand woven mats covering perfectly manicured lawns, white cocktail umbrellas, a trillion plants, and the best cold coconut margaritas than you could ever imagine.
TIP: Make a booking and request a table on the top balcony for the best insta sunset spot.

LA PLANCHA
Seminyak
Picture sitting on colourful beanbags on the beach, pensively contemplating how the mint always blocks your mojito straw, while deep within a field of giant cocktail umbrellas. This is La Plancha and it is the perfect spot to watch the sun set with a frozen mango daiquiri in hand.
TIP: Head over about 5pm to ensure you get a good sunset watching spot deep in the field of umbrellas.

LA LUCCIOLA
Seminyak

Another gorgeous date night option. DO NOT TAKE THE KIDS. They don’t have high chairs, no kids menu and it is generally frowned upon to disrupt all the other date night couples with your screaming child (Yep learnt all that the hard way)

TIP: Make a booking and hire a nanny.

ECHO BEACH CLUB
Canggu
What do you get when you cross the best fresh seafood in Bali with incredible cocktails and a perfect view? Echo Beach Club. Situated on the edge of a cliff overlooking the sea in Canggu, this is the ultimate date night location with some seriously epic fresh seafood. Pick your meat from the fridge and they will grill it for you then and there. Help yourself to the salad bar while you wait, and drink a cold coconut because #coconut.
TIP: Book a table on the edge of the cliff for a completely unobstructed view.

SISTERFIELDS
Seminyak
If you’re missing Melbourne then head to Sisterfields. A cafe straight from the streets of Hawthorn, expect smashed avo, acai bowls and fab coffee. You’ll feel like you’re in a room full of Aussies – but then you get to walk outside and its 28degrees #winning.
TIP: Order the chocolate milkshake

LA FAVELA

Seminyak

Oh my gosh. So you’ll get to the front of the venue and it gives nothing away. A quaint wooden bridge takes you over a pond and through some trees. AND THEN you pop into this huge oasis of twists and turns and rooms and trees – so many things to look at and explore. We went here for a final farewell family dinner and took Isabella with us. The only way we can describe it is a secret garden. The decor and detail in this place – we honestly would have just paid to check that out – but once we ordered and got our food it was hands down our favourite place of the trip. Jonathan had the seafood risotto and Lauren had the rack of lamb and it was one of the best meals we have ever had. Ps. It also turns into the coolest club ever after 11pm.

TIP: Don’t eat to much during the day and then go all out here for dinner. And stay for dancing.

THE BALI TAILOR
Seminyak
If you have some cash to splash definitely head to the Bali Tailor! They have some beautiful leather pieces that are modern and funky. Prices are relative to what you would spend at home but the store is very on trend and if you stalk their Instagram enough you will have a long list ready of what you want to buy. Their leather jackets and handbags are GORG!
TIP: Buy a bag!

BLOW BAR BALI
Seminyak
Ladies, ladies, ladies – you NEED to go and get your hair washed and blow dried at this bad boy for just $25! The newly opened Blow Bar on the main street of Seminyak is the perfect afternoon getaway. We literally sat at a bar, while a very well dressed barman served us delicious cocktails and a hair dresser blow waved our hair! The place is very Instagram worthy, with every inch of the place decked out with some cool sign or piece of furniture. A definite must!
TIP: The raspberry cocktail with cream cheese frosting is a must!

ROSE AVENUE
Seminyak

Beautiful kids interiors shop! Lauren could have spent her life savings decking out Isabella’s room and four other imaginary children’s rooms but alas one’s husband stopped her from going CRAY CRAY and instead we returned with just a couple purchases. Lauren still dreams about those pom pom throw rugs…. Never fear! Her mum is heading to Bali next month and has been given the remainder of the shopping list to complete!!

TIP: Don’t take husband

BALI BABY HIRE
Everywhere
One half of the Vibe Tribe was travelling with the cutest little one year old munchkin Isabella, so were in need of a whole lot of stuff that one didn’t want to have to carry from home. Thus we hired a porta cot, high chair, toys, play mat and pool toys all from this fab company Bali Baby Hire! It’s run by an Aussie Mumma and her Indonesian husband and they were fantastic. Very easy process. They had everything set up ready to go when we arrived at the villa and all the equipment was in great condition. They even provided linen and a mosquito net for the cot! This took away the stress and it was so easy knowing Isabella had everything she needed for the duration of the holiday.
TIP: Order early so you can get your choice of brands and furniture choices
